The Doctor smiled at the man, extending his hand to him politely. “Hello, I’m the Doctor. And you are?”

“Mycroft Holmes, brother of Sherlock Holmes and essentially the British government. How are you?” He didn’t bother to shake the hand, preferring instead to lean on his umbrella.

The Doctor retracted his hand awkwardly and stuck both hands in his pockets. He didn’t know that Sherlock had a brother. He wasn’t quite sure how to feel about Mycroft; he was essentially the British government? And he wasn’t even phased by his name. “Oh, well, I’m quite well, thanks for asking. And yourself?”
